We are born with more powerful and deadlier virus than the coronavirus

Hebrews 3:12-14
“See to it, brothers and sisters, that none of you has a sinful, unbelieving heart that turns away from the living God. But encourage one another daily, as long as it is called “Today,” so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ, if indeed we hold our original conviction firmly to the very end.”

As devastating as the coronavirus is there’s even more powerful and deadlier virus each one of us has been born with - sin. Sin is our willful rebellion against God who made us and who is seeking to save us as well. Sin is so powerful that even after God saves us it still remains in us to the end of our lives.

So we must encourage one another “today” so our hearts may not harden toward God by sin’s deceitfulness. Because the danger is if we let our hearts get hardened by our sin we may give up our conviction that Jesus is the God-Man who came to save us from our sins.

So if you love Jesus “today” let me encourage you to hold on to him to the end, because he’s holding on to you and will not let you go. His love is everlasting. So trust, obey and love Jesus “today”. He is patient, forbearing and kind to his kids who fail and stumble in many ways every day.
