Since October 1, 2023, the rules for the import of cars by parallel import are changing in Russia. This method of delivery will be limited for brands that have not left the Russian market and continue to import cars officially, confirmed Autonews.ru in the Ministry of Industry and Trade. Cars of brands that have left Russia can be delivered through parallel import channels at least until February 1, 2024.

We are talking about a way of passing customs with the issuance of Conclusions on the safety of individual vehicles (ZOETS), for which the importer does not need the permission of the copyright holder. Such a scheme was introduced in March 2022 in order to avoid a shortage of cars and spare parts on the market after many automakers left Russia.

According to market participants, parallel deliveries of Chinese brand cars, which are also officially delivered, may be at risk. These are several premium models:

Geely Monjaro from parallel imports can be found at dealers for 4.35 million rubles. at the official price of 4,515 million rubles.
The Voyah Free hybrid is offered to order from China for 5.6 million rubles. at the official price in Russia of 7.99 million rubles.
The Hongqi E-HS9 crossover is officially sold in Russia for 9.49 million rubles, and gray dealers supply such cars for 8.49 million rubles.

The surveyed market participants do not expect radical changes from October 1, 2023, as the possibility of importing cars with registration not for legal entities, but for individuals will remain. At the same time, gray dealers are preparing for the fact that in the future it will be possible to import only those models that are not represented in Russia by official importers.
