Will there be free parking in Moscow on City Day

As reported on the website of Mosparking and Deptrans of the capital, parking on all streets of Moscow can be used for free only on the days of all-Russian holidays. In particular, it is indicated that in 2023 there will be 69 days with free parking and 18 days when you can park for free everywhere, including zones with the highest tariffs of 380 and 450 rubles/hour. However, the Day of the City of Moscow is a city holiday. Therefore, according to the calendar from Deptrans, standard parking conditions will apply on September 9 and 10.

So, for example, it was in 2022. Festive events in honor of the City Day were held on September 10 and 11. On Saturday, September 10, parking was paid, and on Sunday, the 11th, it was free, except for the zones of increased tariffs (380 and 450 rubles per hour during the daytime).

In 2023, on Saturday, September 9, parking will have to be paid at current rates, and on Sunday it will be possible to park for free, but only in places where there are no increased tariffs (380 and 450 rubles per hour during the daytime).

According to Mosparking, the minimum price for parking a car is 40 rubles. In some parking lots, it can reach 80, 100 or 200 rubles per hour. On some streets in the city center, there is an increased tariff of 380 rubles per hour from 8 am to 9 pm, and at night 200 rubles per hour.

It is most convenient to pay for parking using the application “Parking in Russia”. To do this, you need to get a ticket at the entrance and save it. Before leaving, open the app and select your parking, and then enter the ticket number or scan the QR code on it. Payment can also be made using cash or a bank card through a terminal, through a personal account on the website “Moscow Parking” or via SMS.

The parking space consists of zones, each of which is assigned a four-digit number. If the zone number is specified incorrectly when paying, parking will be considered unpaid and a fine is possible. According to the press service of the AMPP, it is necessary to pay for parking within 5 minutes. And during the same time after the end of the session, leave the parking place.

There is a category of citizens who are allowed to use parking for free. These are large families, residents with a resident parking permit (only from 20:00 to 08:00), people with disabilities of the first or second group, owners of electric cars and motorcyclists.

Closures in Moscow on City Day: how parking will work

On the City Day, the traffic pattern will temporarily change on several streets, according to the website of the mayor of Moscow. Parking will also be closed in all places of traffic restrictions. On September 9 and 10, from 20:00 to 22:00, traffic will be restricted in the side passage of Kutuzovsky Prospekt from house 45 to house 41.
